BARITSU

An illustrative homage to the Victorian art of self-defence, Baritsu is a series of hand drawings commissioned in 2012, by the Black Lion Hotel in Manchester, as decoration for their  bar area.

An eclectic martial art and self-defence method, Baritsu was originally developed in England during the years 1898–1902, combining elements of boxing, jujitsu, cane fighting, and French kickboxing (savate), made famous by the Sherock Holmes novels by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle.
